Lagavulin 2006 (bottled 2021) Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish - Distillers Edition
Distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2021, it's the 2006 vintage of Lagavulin's Distiller's Edition! Treated to a good old ex-Pedro Ximénez sherry cask finish, it's brimming with the hearty tangle of rich peat and sweet, candied fruit character that we've come to grow so fond of in these expressions.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Stewed plums and fruit studded cookies mingle with salty sea breeze and robust, earthy peat smoke.
Palate
Pungent smoke leads the way, backed up by bold baking spices and dark fruit jam. Smouldering charcoal and peppery spice approach from the depths.
Finish
Drying oak, dense ground coffee, prunes, and bittersweet cacao, with coastal bonfire notes lingering for an age.
