A Distillers Edition bottling of Lagavulin single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2014 following a finishing period in Pedro Ximénez casks. These Distillers Editions have proved very popular indeed, and with good reason - the Pedro Ximénez finish stands up nicely against the intense coastal qualities of Lagavulin's single malt. Definitely more than worth a go if you're big on your Islay whiskies.

This is not the knock in the teeth of a Octomore or Supernova, but smokier than a Bowmore. Flavorwise it has sweet sherry and butterscotch notes with Lagavulin's signature smoky bbq tying it all together. There's nothing quite like this. And it is fantastic stuff.
Excellent. I love Lagavullin 16 and Auchentash Three Wood, and the Lagavullin Distillers Edition is the best of both worlds!
Great stuff but the 16yo is better I think.
I too have a bottle of lgv,4/503. I bought this for a reunion this past summer, half my friends liked it and the others weren't too fond of it, but were glad they got to experience a glass of Lagavulin. It was a little too 'peaty' for them...which to me is the main attraction.
Past editions have been winners, looking forward to this edition.
