Lagavulin 21 Bottling Note

A cask strength 21 year old release from Lagavulin, just 6,642 bottles were released, distilled in 1985 and bottled in 2007.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is slightly sweet with gentle sherry notes. The peat is rich and full with notes of eucalyptus oil, spice and pepper, a coastal note soaks in with a touch of fruit, notes of smoke and a nuttiness. The palate is pungent and full. Notes of peat on every level with pungent smoke and Lapsang Souchong. A hint of something herbal with wood notes and a fire gone cold. A touch of rich toffee sweetness with arak. A touch of liquorice and spice creeps in. The finish is long and full of coastal and phenolic notes.

Lagavulin 21 Year Old Reviews

makes you think that you really are Braveheart..

This isn't just one of the best single malt scotches I've ever had... this is heaven on liquid earth. There are too many accolades to write about. If you enjoy 'regular' Laguvulin 16 (since that is primarily the only Laguvulin you can get around here), you are going to think you died and went to Islay heaven. So the cost is in the low 4 figures. It is WORTH every penny. You won't regret it. If you can find more than 1 bottle of it- tell me and I'll buy it sight unseen! Bill Hocking
