Peated Knockdhu 18 Year Old - Chorlton Whisky

Single cask peated Knockdhu aged for 18 years deserves more fanfare than it's probably going to get but this is a superb little whisky. Trust independent Scotch whisky bottler, Chorlton Whisky, to spot a gem, sourcing rare peated whisky from Knockdhu distillery that was aged in a hogshead cask and then filled into just 179 bottles at a cask strength of 58.9% ABV.

    Tasting Note by The Producer

    Nose

The nose has nectarine, tinned mandarin segments, custard creams, and honey granola, backed up by smouldering charcoal, tinctures, and an elusively savoury smoke.

    Palate

The palate is sweet, creamy and really quite peaty, with malted vanilla shake, lemon meringue pie and big clouds of peat smoke.

    Finish

The finish is long and chewy, with touches of herbs, liquorice, honey, and medicinal notes.
