Heavily-peated single cask of Knockdhu here from indie bottlers, Hidden Spirits! The distillery uses Aberdeenshire peat, so it's full of barbecue and wood smoke (rather than the medicinal notes associated with Islay peat), and only produces peated whisky for around a quarter of the year. The particular release was distilled in 2006 and matured for 16 years, before the folks at Hidden Spirits bottled it up in 2022. A rich, toasty Speysider that'll make a great evening sipper.
