Sherry
A 10-year-old single malt from Knockdhu, distilled in 2013 and treated to a finish in a Pedro Ximénez sherry puncheon before it was bottled in 2023. A total of 640 bottles join the Infrequent Flyers collection from Alistair Walker.
Plenty of spiced, dried fruit joins tangy redcurrants and chocolate raisins, with toffee and leathery oak beneath.
Plump sultanas, milk chocolate, and fruit loaf are joined by maple syrup and warming wintery spice.
Fruit cake, cinnamon, burnt sugar, and sherried oak.

Nose: Ginger, spices, dried figs, sherry but not overpowering, hints of chocolate and liquorice. Water really opens it up. Taste: Sweet arrival, oily mouthfeel, cherries, blackberries, dried fruit, dark fruit jam, rich creamy coffee with subtle malty fruit loaf. Finish: Short to medium, sweet with rich dark fruit. This is a very good whisky. At first I thought it was a tad expensive but having experienced it, I think it’s fairly priced. Definitely recommended.
I am not sorry to say this but, my latest purchase of this from Master of Malt was 'not enough'! This is my second bottle and I find this whisky to be, in one word, stunning! This is has classic PX flavour but, on another level! It just oozes character, I shared my first bottle with close friends who were blown away with it. My Portugese friend has this on his to find, purchase and take home to Portugal list, to share with his friends. This friend is also a wine somelier and knows his stuff.
