Kings County Peated Malt
Brooklyn distillers Kings County created this Peated Malt expression from peated English and Scottish malted barley. Taking inspiration from Scotch whisky rather than American whiskey, it's distilled in a Scottish pot still and aged in bourbon barrels from the distillery, as we're sure they have plenty going! Bottled at 47% ABV, this is something a little different from the New York distillery, and we very much enjoy it.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
A pinch of tobacco, with smoky burnt sugar, a touch of vanilla and charred pineapple.
Palate
Candied citrus, floral honey and flamed orange peel, with gentle bonfire smoke in the background.
Finish
Dried hay, a hint of apricot and a subtly sweet smoky note linger.
