A 10 year old single malt Irish whiskey from the Kinahan's range. The Kinahan's name goes back to 1779, though it disappeared for a while and was recently relaunched (on the same street in Dublin it launched all those years ago - Trinity Street).
Citrus fruits and green apples. A slight hint of brandied cherry and bourbon-y vanilla.
Spicier on the palate, with cardamom and pepper. Still possesses the fresh fruit notes from the nose.
Digestive biscuit and milk chocolate.
£5.57 - £60.75

I always preferred scotch being confident that Irish whiskeys are mostly for casual drinkers and not for connosieurs at all. This one was an eye opener for me. Complex and rich yet lacks that heavy Scottish maltose (just my humble opinion! no offence for Scotch lovers ;)
I'm usually of more a single malt Scottish whisky drinker but started to explore more Irish. Love what Kinahan's have done a great job here and is certainly my new favourite Irish and up there with my favourite overall.
I've bought this Single Malt after reading Murray's reviews and I must say that all the prizes it won are definitely well-deserved. It is probably one of the best single malts I've ever had. A unique tasting experience. Very good partner for meaningful conversations while sipping whiskey. I strongly recommend to give it a try if never tasted before. Very happy to have invested on it, I will go for another bottle soon.
Mr. Murray mentioned that "you can actually taste the malt" so, it was a no-brainer for me being a big lover of maltose. True, it is there in spades...BUT...the finish is ORDINARY!
