Killowen Whiskey 6 Year Old – Signature Rum & Raisin
A powerfully flavoursome Irish single malt here from the Killowen team, which has been finished in a combination of Pedro Ximénez sherry and dark rum casks – hence the name Rum & Raisin (though we did first wonder if they had invented cask aged ice cream for moment...). There's a lot to love here, from the intriguing cask recipe to the brilliant notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and molasses.

Nose
Vanilla pod, sultana, brown sugar, treacle tart, and cinnamon.
Palate
Green apples and chewy malt, drenched in sherry. A touch of tropical fruit develops along the way.
Finish
A long finish, with clove, more cinnamon, and a hint of chocolate.
