Another brilliant batch of Kilkerran 8 Year Old Cask Strength from Campbeltown's Glengyle distillery. This edition was matured entirely in oloroso sherry casks and bottled at a robust cask strength of 57.5% ABV.
I bought two bottles of this. Been standing in the cellar for 5 months. Opened one six days ago. Imediately I got the feeling that this is crystal clear Campbeltown. Pure class. It is oily, light peated, great nose, wonderful legs, good mouthfeel, medium to long finnish. Just a great whisky. They know what they are doing in the old capitol!! Please don't tell anyone that this is actually a Springbank. We gotta keep something for our self!!!
