Wine Cask
A marvellous single malt from Islay's Kilchoman Distillery, which first matured in an ex-bourbon barrel before being moved over to be finished in an ex-red wine cask. This one is part of the Founders Cask Release, and as such, it was picked by a member of the Wills family - this time, it was Peter Wills! Just 241 bottles were produced.
Runny caramel, slight salty peat with a hint of forest floor, stewed berries and mulled wine.
Continued berry sweetness juxtaposed by savoury smoke. Gingerbread and chocolate develop later on.
Hazelnut, cherry, a touch of old oak richness.
