Kilchoman 100% Islay 13th Edition
This might be the 13th Edition of Kilchoman's 100% Islay whisky but we feel very lucky to see it arrived. Distilled, as always, from barley grown on the farm at Kilchoman in 2012, 2013, and 2014. It was then aged for a minimum of 8 years in bourbon barrels, predominantly fresh casks. Founder Anthony Willis selected 44 barrels for this year’s release, which was presented at 50% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Vanilla custard, BBQ smoke, golden barley, dried banana, and gingerbread.
Palate
Wood spice, milk chocolate, guava, peat smoke, and candied citrus.
Finish
Maritime smoke and apricot jam.
