Kilchoman 100% Islay 12th Edition
It's the 12th Edition in Kilchoman's 100% Islay series, and still going strong! This release was distilled from Kilchoman's 2011, 2012, and 2013 barley harvests (grown exclusively on Islay on a single farm), before the spirit was matured in 19 bourbon barrels and six oloroso sherry butts for at least eight years. It's a smoky, fruity, floral delight, and superbly well-balanced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet peat smoke leads, followed by homemade jam, lemon blossom, fudge, and kitchen spices.
Palate
Orange chocolate, toasted nuts, and burnt banana bread, alongside aromatic smoke and sweet figs.
Finish
Bittersweet cocoa, woody smoke, and cinnamon sticks.
