Kilbeggan is named after St Bécán, one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland who founded a monastery in the area in the 6th century. Smooth and malty.
The nose is smooth and gentle with nut oils, hazelnut and barley, cereal sweetness and a little peat. The palate is of good body with honeyed sweetness and malt. The finish is short with oaked dryness.

My favourite irish whiskey for everyday
Having conducted extensive testing during a trip to Ireland, a companion and myself determined Kilbeggan to be the superior Irish Whisky. We have yet to be convinced otherwise.
I have been drinking whiskey for over 20yrs scottish/irish/Welsh. . I had my first taste of kilbeggan just over a week ago. I am of Irish descent but had not come across this whiskey I have no doubt this is the best I have tasted and I will be drinking this from now on.
For me Kilbeggan sits between an Irish whiskey and a bourbon, maybe the woody aftertaste. Would probably sell well in America, like Dunphys. Tis slightly overpriced too. Paddy and Powers gold label are better, and cheaper.
For under $20 you just can't beat this Whiskey!
