Kilbeggan

Kilbeggan is named after St Bécán, one of the Twelve Apostles of Ireland who founded a monastery in the area in the 6th century. Smooth and malty.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is smooth and gentle with nut oils, hazelnut and barley, cereal sweetness and a little peat. The palate is of good body with honeyed sweetness and malt. The finish is short with oaked dryness.

Reviews for Kilbeggan
Incredible Irish.
Lovely dram, sweet with plenty of interesting flavours to savour.
Once emptied I'll definitely buy another bottle especially if at this price. Sublime?

Decent Irish blend for the price, can't compete with 10-12 year old Irish whiskies
Just fine for what it is, a good value and decent blended Irish dram. Doesn't compete with 10-12 year old Powers, Bushmills, Redbreasts, Knappogues, or any of the Spot whiskeys, but at this price point it is nice neat or in a cocktail. Slightly sweet , vanilla, malt, subtle peach and pear, cereal. Not complex and not a long finish but will always be an Irish blended that serves as a daily sipper or nice change of pace from Jameson or Bushmills original white label.

I've not found better for the money
It's no Power's John's Lane, but it's the best bottle of Irish whiskey you can buy for £22.

Not for me
First taste is OK, but weak; then some sort of odd, chemical taste that lasts and is unpalatable (YMMV). I bought it on a flyer because Powers is unavailable near where I live.

Buy Jameson instead
Not much to this: light, no burn, inoffensive. But nothing to write home about.

Worth buying.
Great value for the price. Quite sweet and smooth. Surprisingly a bit complex with some deeper flavors, for an Irish whisky anyway.
