Secret Fife 6 Year Old 2018 Red Wine Matured (cask 515) - Fragrant Drops (Keeble Cask Company)
How well do you know your Fife distilleries? This peated Lowlander hails from one of them, and it was bottled up by Keeble Cask Company as part of the Elevenses collection. The whisky spent its full seven-year maturation in a super Tuscan red wine cask, bringing layers of cherry cola and earthy tannins to the bold peat smoke beneath.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Hearty peat smoke and rich, roasty malt join notes of hedgerow fruits, wine gums, and a touch of marmalade, with leathery oak in tow.
Palate
Charcoal and ashen smoke, grilled pineapple, and a touch of menthol are backed by stewed red fruits and earthy spice.
Finish
Smoked tea, cherry cola, treacle.
