Karuizawa Raku-Yaki Bottling Note
Raku is a type of Japanese pottery used in Japanese tea ceremonies, and the pattern is made by taking the bottle out of the hot kiln and allowing it to air-cool. The legendary and now-closed Karuizawa Distillery has presented a pair of single malts in this set of rather funky bottles dubbed Ruku-Yaki, with a 1999-2000 vintage. Only 63 bottles of each colour have been produced at cask strength with 126 bottles in total, with the white bottle weighing in at 60.8% ABV and tan bottle at 61.0% ABV. Exceptionally artistic and collectible bottlings.
