A fantastic sherry butt-matured Karuizawa. This was distilled in 1990, and aged for 19 years in cask number 6446 before it was bottled at a cask strength in 2009. It was bottled for Whisky Live in Japan, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the whisky event. Each bottle is signed by Dave Broom, whisky expert, and then editor-in-chief at Whisky Magazine.
Big on sherry. Very muscular and intense, with notes of liqueur cherries, malt, freshly cut timber, pine nuts, sultanas and chocolate.
Spicy, with notes of maple syrup, cinnamon, cocoa, walnuts, menthol, raisins and pear juice. Cut hay too.
Floral, and grassy. Notes of chocolate covered peanuts and rich sherry.
