Independent bottler Signatory selected this splendid Jura single malt for its Cask Strength Collection. Distilled in 2009, the whisky spent 16 years maturing in a first-fill oloroso sherry butt, yielding 676 cask-strength bottles when it was opened in 2025.
Sea spray and singed raisins, toasted pine nuts, burnt caramel, and baked apples with a herbal edge.
Salty and sweet—sherry-forward but still coastal, with notes of smoked dates, treacle toffee, liquorice root, and nutmeg.
Charred oak, cocoa, and a maritime dryness that keeps things grounded.
