Originally released for the Travel Retail market, this 12 year old expression from the Jura Distillery (located on the island which shares its name, funnily enough) was initially aged in ex-bourbon barrels before enjoying a finishing period in casks that were previously home to a 15 year old Pedro Ximénez sherry. Dubbed The Bay, this expression offers up wave after wave of warm fruit, toffee, and spice notes.
Get it? "The Bay"? "Wave after wave"? Writing is fun.
Caramelised nut and toffee apples, with a dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Stem ginger, stewed berries, a hint of hickory, crumbly fudge.
A smidge of liquorice pokes out on the finish, along with more toffee sweetness.
