J.P. Wiser's 40 Year Old 1982 - Ex Libris The Apprenticeship
Seriously seriously fancy Canadian whisky alert! How often do you see Canadian whisky that's more than 40 years old? In fact, how often do you see any whisky of this age? This is a blended Canadian whisky bottled by La Maison du Whisky at a scarcely believable 61.9% ABV. Amazing for a whisky of this age.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Heady aromas of furniture polish, old wood, honey, dried apricot, dried fruit and toffee here.
Palate
Massive richness here with more spices than you can shake a stick at: cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves with tropical fruit, orange peel, Turkish delight and layers and layers of nuts.
Finish
Just goes on and one. Completely nuts.
