Johnny Drum Private Stock (70cl) Reviews

Very nice and balanced bourbon

Great bourbon. Really smooth for the proof. Take a small sip and you really taste the oak cinnamon flavor come through. I hope it continues to get mediocre reviews so it stays affordable for the ones who really enjoy it. I do wish Willett's would reintroduce the age statement. I'm guessing it somewhere around the 10 year mark.

Best value ever

I live in Louisville. This is the best $30 15 yr old bourbon you’ll ever be lucky enough to buy/taste.

not worth the cost for the bad aftertaste

really harsh and has a bad aftertaste to it. Not worth the cost, was really disappointed.

Not smooth, not balanced

I don't understand the reviews I'm seeing. I just purchased a bottle (this review is written Dec 2017) and I find this rather harsh. It's quite dry, withe a rather strong alcohol smell, taste and burn. There's nothing smooth about it. And very little in the way of and "easy sipping" experience. As a reality check I pulled out an Evan Williams Bottled in Bond, which is about the same proof and 2/3 the price. It's far smoother. Flavors are not as bold, but the EW is balanced and I think the Johnny Drum is all over the place.

Awesome

I tasted Johnny Drum for the first time , and I totally enjoyed the smoothness of it. I wish I could find it , because it's very hard to find.

Age does matter

Delicous fruits, vanilla, oak and some prickling on the tongue. One of the most impressive bourbons I know showing once more, which may come as a surprise to some, the older the better.

Lovely Stuff

This stuff is dangerously delicious and smooth, way too easy to get carried away drinking this stuff. Yummmmmmmm

Agree with the Campfire

Got to agree with the previous commentary. The taste of Johnny Drum's Private Stock comes from somewere WAY before. It has the taste of older, slower times in it. Sitting in a cabin, or by a campfire with this one is just a treat!

my favorite

This is without a doubt my favorite bourbon. Sitting around a campfire with a fine cigar. Doesn't get any better.
