Description

King George V is a very special edition from Johnnie Walker, packaged beautifully and made to celebrate the Royal Warrant bestowed upon the company by the monarch. This is made with some of Johnnie Walker's rarest stocks, including Cardhu, Lochnagar and even Port Ellen.

This bottle was part of a private collection and may show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Rich, spicy aromas with hints of Christmas pudding, brandy butter and vanilla. Slightly nutty too, with notes of ground almond and blossom.

Palate

Fruity, creamy palate entry. Creamy notes of caramel, manuka honey and a hint of very refined wood smoke. Allspice and nutmeg develop.

Finish

Nutty finish with a surge of salt caramel and biscuity malt.

Outstanding

Probably one of the best Christmas presents I have been given for a very long time. This is an outstanding whisky. I’m not a great fan of peat but the blend here is just fabulous. The smoke rounds out some fabulous dark pudding, marmalade and honey characteristics that make this an extremely opulent blend. I have shared a bit with some whisky loving friends - but no more!

This Scotch is by far the single best glass of whisky that I have ever had.

My wife gave me a bottle of JWKGV as a Christmas present. I must admit, at first I was fairly upset at her for spending God knows what on this bottle, but then after mustering up the courage to open that gorgeous bottle, I had a glass. My disapproval of her purchase was quickly replaced with a reminder of why she's the best wife. This is something that I would never purchase for myself, but she would without hesitation. This Scotch is by far the single best glass of whisky that I have ever had. If you are on the fence about purchasing a bottle, don't worry, you will not be disappointed.

If you like Platinum, you will like King George V.

It's a high level of quality... DEFINITELY, won't disappoint. Great nose and just the bottle is a conversation, on its own!!
