This bottle of Johnnie Walker is named Swing after the rocking motion the bottle makes when pushed. Naturally this is a collectable item.
I'm normally a single malt / McCallums drinker but was pleasantly surprised by the smooth velvety taste of Johnny Walkers Swing. I drink my Scotch neat, what other way is there to drink a single malt. But Swing can easily be drunk neat and I doubt if there'd be a complaint.
This used to be one of the best whisky bargains around. It used to be a fabulously rich, well aged, fruity, slightly smoky, leathery armchair and rich tangy fruit of a whisky. I picked up a bottle of this the other day and was suspicious at how many bottles were in the store. Maybe about 30 bottles of this stuff. This ISN'T the Swing of old. THIS is a cheaper, weaker, throw away version which isn't even worth the 35 quid I paid for the bottle. Sorry to be negative about what used to be a great whisky, but the rip offs and production of inferior whisky products has to stop. Otherwise I will simply no longer buy any new whisky, I will just trawl the internet looking for older bottles while the quality was still good.
Outstanding, to my pallet, oak and smooth nut flavor, a pleasure to sip.
It literally tastes like a red label that's been aged for 18yrs. It has surprisingly good body and texture. Quite oily mouth feel. It's rich, creamy, sherry, and you can definitely taste some grain whiskey but also detect some older whiskies in here as well. I'm having a chivas regal 21 right now and I gotta say I prefer the swing.
Thought the Swing was a good tasting and smooth drink!! I'll buy this again.
