Johnnie Walker
Scotland
Blended
Smoke meets sweet in Sweet Peat from Johnnie Walker, a limited edition experimental blended Scotch whisky. The core of Sweet Peat features whisky from Caol Ila and sherry matured Glendullen, in a similar vein to the peaty deliciousness that is the Johnnie Walker Black Label.
The warmth of caramel and spices combined with the fresh smokiness of fruit around a campfire.
Sweet and indulgent caramel and fudge, married with charred tropical fruits.
Ripe apples and oranges, followed by a rounded smokiness that stays with you after the last sip.
A really nice blend just enough of the peat flavour to make this a nice everyday drop. I enjoyed the nice subtle caramel aftertaste. A cracking little number in my humble opinion
Great
"Sweet Peat" - the latter inspired my purchase. I love peated whisky and my favourites include the usual suspects; Ardbeg, Laphroig and Lagavulin. The Peat in this JW is just a whisp, and I only catch it on the finish. Its a pleasant dram for sure, but dont go in expecting a big peat presence as it's just not there... a good transition whisky perhaps for non peat heads? Good value for money although in my opinion, you'd be better spending more for the Ailsa Bay 1.2 Sweet Smoke if you want a peat presence that isn't overbearing. Slàinte Mhath.
Smooth & Delicious! Mild peat flavor! I was pleasantly surprised!
Poured a large dram of this and was very pleasantly surprised. The Tasting Notes above are spot on. All I will add it that this Whisky is very smooth and one I will come back to again and again. Thank You Johnnie Walker.
