Johnnie Walker Island Bottling Note

Originally released for the Travel Retail Market, Johnnie Walker's Island Green blended malt is a variation on their popular (and recently relaunched) Green Label, made with a hearty helping of smoky Islay whisky at its core. Also, the name reminds us of Weezer's song 'Island in the Sun' from their Green album.

Wish it was available in U.S.

Reminds me of a slightly tamer version of Lagavulin 16. Very nice; especially after dinner.

Quite ok..

Nose : smokey (fades after half bottle, or maybe my nose is acclimated already); fruity like smelling white wine
Palate : a bit salty, smokey, peppery
Finish : dry and quite short
Texture : thin..

Ps we will be in Scotland next aug if I can’t find it before I’m coming to you 😎🥃

Best I’ve had the smoky nose and taste is like being around a campfire, and I’m down to my last two glasses 😂 HELP. Thanks

A nice one

It should be a little more than 50 euros at an european airport. The price level is similar to the green label. I cannot say that this one tastes better but it is at least as good as the green label.

Rich and smokey. Much better than the newest version of Green Label

An amazingly good blend.
As Smokey as double black but a much richer taste.
Not too dissimilar from The Dalmore 12yo which for a blend is no bad thing.
I'm on my 4th bottle of Island Green now.
About £42 per litre in duty free.

Island Green is da bomb!

It’s only blend that I have ever embraced. Laphroaig is my distillery of choice, but lately I’ve only been able to afford Laphroaig 10 year and Quarter Barrell at the Duty Free Shops when returning from Ontario. The last few times only the exotic varieties were available ( the 10 year and Quarter Barrell) were sold out; I saw that Island Green was available, so I gave it a try. The bold smoke and sea characteristics won me over immediately. If it weren’t for bold Islas, I doubt that Scotch would be my spirit of choice. This week, we mistakenly ordered “Green Lable” on line, thinking it as the “Island Green.” We’re mildly disappointed. While the “Green” is pleasant it lacks the bold character of the Isla blend. I would love to see this more widely available. Island Green caused me to reconsider Johnnie Walker and blended Scotch. Better availability of Island Green will ensure my continued patronage. I’m pretty sure that this is my last order of Green Lable.

Not very good!!! I won’t buy again!!

Good smoky blend

Earthy smoke, grilled apricot and date, yes... and the sweetness of milk chocolate and caramel. Then burnt oak, spicy bitterness, red apples.

I don't love it, but I like it.

Not good

Tastes like chloreseptic spray. Very disappointed thought I was buying something similar to Green Label.
