Johnnie Walker Blue Label - Year of the Rat 2020
It's Johnnie Walker's fabulous annual limited edition bottling of its Blue Label expression in honour of Chinese New Year! For 2020, the Year of the Rat, artist Shirley Gong adorned the bottle with her brilliant illustrations. The rat is actually the first animal to appear in the Chinese zodiac, so this is an ideal dram to crack open to celebrate the beginning of the 12 year cycle!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fragrant with good body. Notes of oak, crisp spice, dried fruit, pastries. Berry fruits, aniseed, hints of cedar, a touch of spice and citrus.
Palate
Supple and balanced. Good toffee and hints of very wistful smoke. Chocolate, hints of grass and a good hit of malt.
Finish
Floral, oaky, good length, urged on by a plume of very well-kept, highland style smoke. Dried fruit, spice, honey.
Overall
One of the ultimate premium blends, Blue Label is a legend in its own right and will continue to be.
