Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Caramel apples, Christmas spices and lingering toasted almond.

Palate

Honey, oats, drying spices and refreshing orange peel.

Finish

Still quite spicy on the finish, though layers of chocolate and fruit balance it out.

A must have whisky

Peated very different from the Original Walker series. The smokiness is well defined. In fact I once added American oak chips to my glenfiddich 18 year and blended it a bit with Glenfiddich 12 year. I trying doing all that crap. I am surprised to see that this is almost on the similar note but with more spicy finish. Much higher escalation from Red label, many notches higher.

Have to blend with other whiskey to enjoy

Just average. Real whiskey taste hard to get as all other flavours overpower each other. 100% smooth and fruity but for me the essence of a dram ie malts/scotch just missing. As I blended this brand with other label, I felt better and enjoyable. Only red rye not enjoyable and definitely need blending from my side.

Keep walking JW you are ahead of many ....

Smooth , sweet and fruity without having an overpowering after taste . Apple's , honey and almonds and an obvious rye after taste . One of the better JW elixir's. Good job from JW whisky as this one is affordable and gives you what it has to do for a fair price . Just purchased two bottles for 35 euros it was on sale .
