Johnnie Walker Green Label is a blended malt made entirely with single malts from the four corners of Scotland and aged for at least 15 years. It's one of the best bargains in Scotch whisky and a favourite among bartenders.
The nose is quite rich and full. There are notes of mochaccino and espresso coffee, wood smoke and a fireplace, as well as a touch of bitter chocolate and oak.
The palate has a medium-body with notes of crisp cereals, coffee beans and chocolate, a date note with a touch of walnut.
The finish is quite long and spicy with honeyed sweetness and oak.
Johnny walker green label 15 year old, is my favourite blended whiskey, it has outstanding tasting notes, complex in flavour with the best blends of single malts, from all regions of Scotland,, john Martin Sydney Australia ? ???
JW Green Label...the best of an average range (Black, Double Black, Red, Gold, Blue) etc from JW Blenders. Come on JW, wake up, give we customers (not Consumers) much better value and presentations please? You have been in the business long enough to recall that it is ordinary customers who have made your brand a success....NOT THE MARKETING & COMMERCIALLY DRIVEN BULL-SHITTERS that pervade and are rife in and amongstthe Scotch Whisky industry. Positive, constructive criticism given when justified, such as this is, should be thought of as 'gold dust' for your future production & sales strategies. I've tried all the single malts in this blend after trying my first JWG a few years ago. All are worthy of note and the Talisker is my firm favourite. For complexity and aftertaste the Talisker will always be my go to, but any relative who gifts me a bottle of JWG will definitely receive a superior gift in return. A bottle of Johnnie Green will last months on my shelf as I ration my drams to enjoy them to their fullest. Lesser drinks (and I count some single malts amongst that number) will not enjoy such a rarified shelf time.
Of the more expensive Johnny Walker whiskeys, this is the best for the price. A nice blend of single malts.
Doubtless a quality whisky, but little bit too strong on the peat and smoke for my taste. I shan’t knock it, but I prefer the milder Black label.
