Produced by John Distilleries in Goa, India, the Paul John range of single malt whiskies is named after their Chairman. Made using Indian 6-row barley from the Himalayan foothills, Brilliance is matured in bourbon barrels for 3-5 years before bottling at cask strength. (As with other Indian single malts, the tropical climate causes greater evaporation, around 12-13% a year, but in turn they show very well at younger ages.)
Good core of juicy barley. Ryvita with salted butter. Cinnamon-dusted-red berries, with a little green apple skin following it up.
Chomp Bars - lots of chewy caramel and chocolate here. Picks up from lively spice along the way, with a little bit of waxy orange peel on the mid palate.
Orange lingers. Surprisingly long, with the rye notes from the nose coming back in full force.
A fine Indian single malt from John Distilleries.

Gifted it to my husband and he is well happy. I am a whisky drinker too and loved every bit of it. what a great find.
Very nice whisky. Pleasantly surprised.
very good whisky. it good character to it.
There is something funny going on with these reviews. I notice a trend of hate reviews of some brands and I don't believe this at all. I have tried this whisky before and is just a real good whisky from India.
The bottle is covered in Mold and smells horrible - stale damp smell of mold. Would never buy this again.
