Spectacular Indian single malt whisky from Paul John, produced in Goa. This peated expression was distilled in 2009 and allowed to mature for 6 years before we bottled it up as part of our Single Cask Series. Expect waves of rich smoke and layers of runny honey from this one...
Apples and cinnamon snaps, shortly followed by a trio of tasty baked goods - hot cross buns, malt loaf and banana bread. A slight hint of anise develops later on.
Fresh ginger, bonfire smoke and burnt caramel as it opens up. Raisins, ground clove and brown sugar begin to dominate the palate soon after.
Toffee apples and advent calendar chocolate, with a sprinkle of white pepper and a subtle touch of red chilli.
Paul John's Indian single malt impresses once again!
Did not expect much but man, it is a great whiskey!
Just like eating a proper cartmel sticky toffee pudding, onto which someone has tipped half a pint of demerara rum. EPIC
