Jameson Black Barrel is a special blend of Jameson Irish Whiskey, made with aged double-distilled spirits and matured in deep charred oak barrels. The result is a smoother, richer whiskey with a complex taste. Jameson Black Barrel is perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks.
Jameson Black Barrel (AKA Small Batch) is a super release from Jameson, with a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey as well as small-batch grain. The result is an increased body and level of richness when compared to the core expression. It's aged in double charred first-fill bourbon casks (black barrels). Well worth a look...

Rich and fruity with notes of tropical fruits, coconut, nectarines in yoghurt, guava and a thick core of sweet cereals.
Thick and full on the palate, with an intense, unctuous creaminess, alongside dates, walnuts and peels. Good peach and coconut notes, and a little cinnamon.
Long finish, and very fruity with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg and hints of potpourri.

I've only had standard Jamesons and this is a pleasant surprise. Very tasty. I can definitely taste the charred qualities and it improves it drastically. I didn't expect it to be so nice. I don't think I'll be able to go back to the standard stuff after tasting this.
I enjoyed it with a group of old Men after Sunday Church session.. very smooth and a spicy after taste.
Yea the original select reserve has a black lable with gold trim on the bottom and clearly says select reserve. And yes the original select reserve truly was worth the price, this one not as much but close enough to pass to the ones who have not tried the original.
This has got to be my favourite whiskey I've had here in Ireland thus far! Trust me, I've tasted too many to count ? Strong, rich taste, with a lingering, yet pleasant, warmth after the initial sip. Very robust, with a hint of oak and citrus that is just strong enough to notice at first tasting, but subtly eases to a quite enjoyable combination of flavours. Please, do not discontinue this brand! Definitely something to be shared with friends and family around Christmas time.
A fine fruity whisky with a hint of peat with a strong creamy vanilla finish. Excellent on the palette.
