    Jim Beam Devil's Cut

This is the result of taking 90 proof Jim Beam Bourbon and extracting spirit absorbed into the wood of the barrels itself and blending them together. The result is a punchy oak-fest of a Bourbon, surely the drink of the devil himself?

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Immensely woody, fresh cut oak and a whole heap of vanilla and wood spice.

    Palate

The American oak vanilla remains powerful with a rich woodiness joining it.

    Finish

Yep still oaky, the finish is reasonably long with a pinch of spice scattered on top of that persistent vanilla flavour.

    Overall

Well this is definitely a woody drink, and it is an interesting experiment in what can be achieved through wood extraction.

My first Jim Beam - but not my last!

This is the first Jim Beam product I've tried, and was impressed how good it was. I drink it neat without ice or water and it was spot on. Definitely will try other JB products.

All about the wood - devilishly special Bourbon made in a unique way

Don't be snubbed by the price - this is a SPECIAL bourbon, few know about it or the unique process of making it. When any whiskey or whisky is made there are three cuts: - the angel's cut (the bit that evaporates during aging) - the man's cut (the content of the barrels) - the devil's cut (the bit absorbed by the wood of the barrels) It may be young but it's matured in old barrels that are at the end of their life, these barrells full of flavour then get destroyed and the devil's cut is extracted from the moist wood, this very dark liquid is then blended with the bourbon from the barrels to make an amazing creation, the best value bourbon in my opinion. Yes the core bourbon could benefit from more aging, hence I think a premium version of this made with 12 year old (minimum) bourbon would be the best bourbon bar none! As it stands it's exceptional value well deserving of the five stars for that alone, a unique drink and a great story.

    Top shelf American

Excellent drop. Good raw bourbon for the seasoned rebel.
