Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Grapefruit peels, custard creams and icing sugar. Soon followed by nutmeg and vanilla sugar. Lightness throughout.

Palate: Soft and well-rounded with continued vanilla cream. Fresh pear, banana and hints of cardamom and oak.

Finish: The sweet citrus peels return, along with a little bit of meadowsweet.

Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky Reviews

Summer evening

Really light, sweet and smooth. Icing sugar and vanilla stand out to me. Perhaps really indulgent ice cream. It’s not very complex, but it is a decent one for a summer evening and that’s not taking anything away from it.

Beautiful

I generally love the heavily peated Islay whisky’s but this is really just beautiful! Very smooth and a surprising amount of character.

Brilliant

I was pleasantly surprised. In North America we have a very wide choice and Bains just took up first place on my list of favourites. What a wonderful experience, soft subtle sipping whiskey. Add some friends, some biltong and a cool autumn Canadian evening and you have just passed into a state of Nirvana!

A lovely Soft and smooth dram

Given as a birthday gift, a lovely supprise of a whisky, soft fruit and caramel notes, smooth on the palate with a creamy mid finish, a new favourite dram that reminds me of some of the lesser known speyside malts. All in all a great wee dram 😁

Keep it neat

I got bought a bottle of this for my birthday and it is gorgeous. Very smooth and definitely should be drunk neat (water/ice spoils it in my opinion)

A great malt.

Brought this lovely whisky back from SA after a fantastic 3 weeks there in February this year, luckily before the pandemic arrived. It's doing much to ease our lock down as well as tasting superb.
