Jack Daniel's Legacy 2

The second release in a series celebrating the history of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey. Following the theme from the first bottling, we get to see a Jack Daniel's label design only previously seen by people back in the days of yore and yonder. Evidently, this particular design was the first time that Jack Daniel's was mostly decked out in black - a style that continues to this day!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Butterscotch, vanilla and fresh apples.

Palate Orange zest, cereal sweetness and toasty oak, with a little spice and toffee.

Finish Smooth and soft, with a hint of banana milkshake.

Reviews for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey Legacy Edition 2
Don't like it.
No change from the usual JD. Let's face it, this is not whisky. It's harsh and brutal, like the normal stuff. Nothing to recommend it. Get some single malt instead.

The best Jack Daniel's bourbon
The best Jack Daniel's? Probably.

As far as bourbons go, not including the Tennessee Fire, although I can't compare it to the first or third Legacy Editions because I haven't had them, it is definitely superior to the standard Old No. 7 and Gentlemen Jack. It's a delightful whiskey, very well balanced between spice and custard/butterscotch with a smooth, medium-long finish leaving me wanting more.

Why didn't I buy two bottles?

This likely is a better whiskey than the 40%...
Apparently instead of describing tasting notes, we are reduced to describing color notes of the labels now? Even by the employees of the company? Granted, it's cool to collect every iteration, but seriously, why not try improving THE WHISKEY? The namesake would be ashamed. The company is "resting on the labels" now :)

Would replace the 80 proof Old No. 7 in a heartbeat.
Son bought me a bottle for my birthday. At 86 proof, it takes me back to the days when whiskey had flavor. Love the charred white oak and vanilla flavors.

Fantastic !
Initially a hefy bite - reminds one of Jack Daniel's as it used to be - lots of liquorice but always soft and rich. A lovely flow of rich flavour with a long, dry, soft aftertaste. Absolutely stunningly delicious.
