Isle of Raasay 7 Year Old Na Sia Single Cask Series - American Rye Cask Unpeated
The sister expression of the Peated editon, this limited unpeated single cask from Raasay’s Na Sia series was also matured in an American rye whiskey cask sourced from Woodford Reserve Distillery in Kentucky. The difference is simply that one is peated, the other is unpeated, and this being the latter it shows off more of Raasay’s naturally fruity spirit. Bottled at a cask strength of 60% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with natural colour.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Vanilla fudge, butterscotch, gentle spice, caramel sauce, toasted oak, and a touch of soft orchard fruit.
Palate
White pepper and rye spice balanced by caramel, vanilla, toasted grain, and a little nutty sweetness.
Finish
Vanilla, caramel, white pepper, and drying oak spice lingering nicely.
