Description

A peated single cask release from the Isle of Raasay Distillery’s Na Sia series. Made with Laureate barley, the whisky matured for seven years in a Bordeaux red wine cask, pairing Raasay’s aromatic peat smoke with the rich fruit and savoury spice of the wine-seasoned oak. It was bottled at 59.8% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration.

Nose

Ripe strawberries, blackberry compote, and redcurrant, wrapped in aromatic wood smoke. Cinnamon, clove, and charred oak sit underneath, with a little earthy peat.

Palate

Strawberry jam, black cherry, and plum, followed by pepper, savoury spice, and increasingly robust peat smoke. A touch of cocoa and toasted oak adds weight.

Finish

Dark berries, cinnamon, drying oak, and fragrant smoke lingering together.
