Invergordon 54 Year Old 1966 (cask 13718) - Xtra Old Particular (Douglas Laing)
Extraordinarily well-aged single grain Scotch whisky here from the Invergordon Distillery, matured in a single refill barrel for 54 years! It was distilled all the way back in May 1966 and left to mature for over half a century, before being bottled by Douglas Laing in July 2020. It was released as part of the Xtra Old Particular range, which is reserved for special whiskies – just like this one! Only 93 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Producer
Rich, round and so full of fruictiferousness, furniture wax and cereal on the nose! The palate gingery spice and is still remarkably lively with bourbon, sweet vanilla and raisin-y fudge. Its finish reverts to fruit, sweet spices and a hard candy style.
