Invergordon 42 Year Old 1973 - Sansibar
A single cask single grain from the ever-impressive Invergordon distillery, aged in a bourbon cask for 42 years. It was distilled back in 1973 and slept soundly within the aforementioned cask until 2015, when German indie bottler Sanisbar bottled it up in collaboration with Spirits Shop' Selection. Only 240 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Toasted sugar, earthy vanilla and a sprinkling of dried basil leading into dry oak.
Palate
Roast chestnuts, dark chocolate and sweet dessert wine.
Finish
A very subtle whiff of charred oak, but still dominated by caramel and vanilla.
