Another incredible indie Invergordon single grain bottled by the folks at That Boutique-y Whisky Company, this one aged for 25 years before it was bottled at 49.8% ABV. The label features a diagram of the inner workings of a Coffey still, but no one has quite had the heart to tell That Boutique-y Whisky Company to check how to spell "Coffey"...
Batch 9 is a release of 1,093 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Coffee beans, lightly-toasted oak, Crème brûlée unripe pear and flamed orange peel.
Vanilla-y oak appears first, shortly followed by big handfuls of cacao nibs and toffee chunks. Drying, earthy clove spiciness develops on the mid-palate.
The pears from the nose re-emerge, now poached and dusted with cinnamon.

A very nice dram. Sweet notes with some spice to balance it out. This has lots of layers and for me needed a few drops of water to bring out the best. A nice long finish and a whiskey that just makes you want to chew on it for a while. Hope to enjoy this again
