9000
This is a very rich 1988 vintage single cask grain whisky from Berry Brothers and Rudd. It was distilled at Invergordon, aged for 24 years in cask 9000 and bottled un-chillfiltered and without caramel colouring in 2012.
Toasty, spicy nose with hints of apple peel, allspice and butterscotch. A hint of peppermint.
Rich notes from the cask - a lot of bourbon influence here. A touch of cinnamon, manuka honey and cooked fruit.
Vanilla cream and salted caramel on the finish.
A rich, toasty whisky with masses of influence from the bourbon cask.

I think grains need to have more age behind them than malts in order to shine. This one qualifies. Very accurately described in the MoM tasting notes above. I'm glad I bought it!
