Invergordon 41 Year Old - Single Cask (Master of Malt)

This is a stunning 41 year old single cask Invergordon from our good selves. Invergordon is a single grain whisky which means that the whisky is made from both malted and un-malted cereals. The result is a sweeter style of whisky often used for blending purposes. We managed to liberate a cask so you can enjoy Invergordon in its own right.

We've filled 38 bottles of this phenomenal single grain whisky from a single cask.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Caramel greets the nose initially followed by sweet spice and vanilla, then slowly a leathery character emerges with hints of old Cognac.

Palate

The palate is butterscotch sweet with a syrupy mouth-feel, behind this there are notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and ground ginger.

Finish

The finish is long and lingering with notes of toffee and grapes, then there is a hint of citrus zest and raisins which breathes new life into this extraordinary finish.

Overall

Whisky doesn't need to be old to be great, but that's not to say it can't be! This Invergordon is as complex as it is sweet and smooth. Furthermore it's great value for a whisky of this age, simply superb!
