Thick caramel, rooibos tea, sticky ginger cake with dates, and a touch of treacle. Furniture polish and leatherbound books nestle in the depths.
Golden sultanas drizzled with honey, toffee pennies, vanilla fudge in the depths, and subtle roasted nuts - almonds and Brazils.
Well-developed notes of drying oak arrive for the finish, alongside perfumed notes of cedar and more of that rooibos from the nose.
Bought this for my Husband for Easter because I knew he would prefer it to chocolate ?. He is drinking it as we speak & favours it very highly. It there's to be one tiny criticism it would be that I would have liked it in a box although I do understand the minimalist concept of the "perfume" bottle.
If you like oloroso cask and you like a higher abv then you’ll love this. Quite sherried, and bloody lovely
Think landing face first in the playground and getting a mouthful of woodchips - all I can get is pine, oak and cedar - not my cup of tea but some might like. However, after a good time in the mouth, I can get hints of dried fruits - prunes and raisins.
