Inchgower 29 Year Old 1982 (Berry Bros. & Rudd)

Wine Merchants Berry Brothers and Rudd's own bottling of the glorious Speyside whisky of Inchgower. This single malt whisky was bottled at cask-strength without chill-filtration and a tidy twenty-nine years of ageing.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Green notes of angelica root and gooseberries followed by single cream and elegant cedar wood tones.

Palate

The power of this whisky is felt on the palate as it unleashes a torrent of flavour with burnt sugar and cookie dough chased down with greengages and black pepper.

Finish

Angelica root and thyme at first but then become much spicier as the cask strength element takes hold.

Overall

With almost thirty years of ageing and an abv in the mid-fifties this whisky would have little excuse to be lacking in flavour or quality, and thankfully it doesn't. This whisky is packed with green fruit, menthol and spice notes - very pleasing.
