Inchgower 14 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)

The third batch of Inchgower independently bottled That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a 14 year old expression, boasting plenty of cooked fruit and toasted oak notes. The label features a pair of goat tourists atop Niagara Falls. Why? Well, perhaps it has something to do with what Inchgower means in Scottish Gaelic...

Batch 3 is a release of 1,096 bottles.

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Apple blossom, floral notes and damp hay lead. Tropical fruit, fresh malt and woody tannins form the core underneath.

    Palate

A kick of crystallized stem ginger, rich caramel, and touches of dry oak initially, before Victoria Sponge and juicy pear notes rise.

    Finish

Honeyed barley and a hearty lick of salinity lingers.

    Overall

An engaging and rewarding dram from Inchgower.

Entirety different beast from the F&F

Even though this is an older and higher strength Inchgower, it's much rawer on the nose closer to the new make than the finished product. Will say that it's interesting, worth the price? Maybe but there's more fulfilling drams at similar price points
