12 year old single malt from Inchgower, a fab distillery in Speyside. This one was distilled in 2009 and matured for a dozen years, including a finishing period in an Oloroso sherry butt. Eventually, it was bottled up at cask strength by James Eadie, with 613 bottles produced.
Nose: Soft currant bun sweetness, with some grassy malt and a touch of flinty minerals.
Palate: Stem ginger, dark chocolate, a smidge of anise and orange.
Finish: Marmalade on rye toast, vanilla pod, a hint of coffee.
