Distilled at Imperial in 1995, this was aged for 16 years before bottling by Duncan Taylor for their fabulous Octave range of whiskies finished in smaller "octave" casks for added pep and zing (also vim).
Nose: Grassy, green, zesty and tangy notes greet the nose with hints of vanilla, black olive and exotic spices.
Palate: Thick and warming with notes of gingerbread, toasted almond, nuts in syrup and pecan pie. A little under-ripe apple note too.
Finish: Long, ginger-led and very moreish!
