A mystery malt here from Ian Macleod's excellent As We Get It series! This single malt Scotch whisky comes from an undisclosed distillery in the Highlands region – no hints as to which one specifically (unless you count how it tastes to be a hint, which... Well, yeah, if you were super clued up on distillery flavour profiles, you might be able to take a good guess). It's been bottled up at cask strength, a hefty 60.6% ABV.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Softly singed barley, chocolate chip cookies, dusty oak furniture.
Palate
Some sherried sweetness comes through, with helpings of earthy oak and vanilla-rich malt.
Finish
Fragrant barley lingers, with hints of maraschino and toffee.
