Style Single Pot Still Whiskey

Hinch Single Pot Still

From the Hinch distillery in Ballynahinch, Northern Ireland comes this tasty Single Pot Still whiskey! The addition of oats to mashbill means that there's an underlying creaminess to the expression. The bulk is matured in bourbon casks, though a small portion spent its time sherry casks, so there's a prickle of spice in there too.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Porridge and cream, with lime zest and cinnamon spice.

Palate Oat and raisin cookies with lemon shortbread and building spice throughout.

Finish A creamy, zesty finish, with lingering peppery oak.

Reviews for Hinch Single Pot Still
Not for me, thank you
Tastes like lemon-flavored vinyl.

Light Irish
By no means an Irish whiskey expert but I quite like this. It smells quite powerful and smoky but tastes surprisingly light. This isn’t a bad thing but at nearly £40 it’s quite ambitiously priced. I think it would make a great highball

Very Smooth
Really good for those who like a smooth light whiskey.

Great for beginner dram fans.

If your at a pinch, ignore a Hinch.
I must say this was my first Pot Still whiskey and will probably be my last. Unimpressed by the depth of flavours and I found the palate dull. Back to those gorgeous peaty single malts from Islay for me.

Loved it.
I’m no expert whiskey drinker, but I was bought this as a gift and thoroughly enjoyed it (and intend to buy some more for myself). Subtle but complex flavours and a long finish. Also had quite a potent kick.
