It's a Peated expression from the Hinch Distillery! Based in the Killaney Estate, it takes its name from the nearby town of Ballynahinch. The triple distilled whisky is packed full of chilli spice and savoury smokiness.
Caramelised oak, woody cinnamon and honey-roasted ham, with a crack of rock salt all backed up by a wave of peat smoke.
Smoked nuts and barbecued meats, charred herbs and fresh fruit sweetness, with building chilli spice.
Charred chilli pepper and bonfire smoke.

This was really pleasant surprise for such a young whiskey. It’s very lightly peated so not over powering and can enjoyed by those who don’t normally go for the smokier whiskey. It’s very easy to drink and that price it offers great value. I’ve tried a few of the Hinch whiskeys and this is my favourite. I happily recommend to anyone.
I’m on around my 10th bottle of this, glad I didn’t read the reviews before I bought my first ! Made it to my top 5 list at a whisky tasting in London even compared to some at >£100. Slightly chemical smell on first opening but this goes after a day. A little chilled water wakes it up nicely. I should point out that I am no expert and others are probably technically correct, but I love this.
Tried it at my local whiskey club (sadly remotely). For the price, one of the worst whiskeys I've tried. Sad, as I was really looking forward to it. I could could notes, pallet and finish but it would be in the same vein.
This is bad. Overwhelming notes of petrol station burps. I like their un peated expression but this whisky ruins other nearby bottles
Received yesterday as a birthday present. Neat virgin tasting: It’s young and tastes like smoky co-op ham slices, not great, too much peat, not enough malt but strangely has something sweet in the finish, a bit like some Covid-19 lockdown sugar vodka I made (for hand sanitiser purposes)... needs more aging and also too much alcohol for the body of the whiskey. With some chilled water: Cheers it up lots, grassy, malty notes come out, in the same universe as Balvenie peat week 14 or perhaps a poor-man's version of the Kilchoman 2007 11 Year Old TWE Exclusive.. Ultimately I’m actually quite happy with this. Its rather overpriced but not bad for what it is.
